Phillip Castro

Phillip Castro is a Project Engineer for O’Neill & Company. He graduated from Utah State in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Since then, he has been involved with designing and carrying out a variety of transportation projects. These include designs for new traffic signal installations, traffic signal upgrades & rebuilds, signalized pedestrian crossings, warning signals, ATMS, pavement preservations, and signal construction training modules. Daily, Phillip helps manage O&C projects, contributing with the designs, conducting project coordination, providing thorough QC/QA reviews and meeting project schedules. He is knowledgeable and proficient in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and SignCAD.

 

Phillip managed the State Signal Procurement contract on behalf of Traffic & Safety for the Utah Department of Transportation, for over 2 years. In that position, he assigned and scheduled numerous signal procurement projects to be constructed, coordinated daily with the procurement contractors, reviewed signal plans and estimate/order forms, and assisted in the updates for many UDOT Standard Drawings and Specifications.

  

Outside of work, He loves spending time with his family. He enjoys dirt biking, fishing, camping, and playing the piano.
